Thad Does An Ally McBeal

I remember this particular incident when my fuse just blew off during a lecture being given by an instructor at my present school. Prior to the incident, I was already shaking my head at the way she condescendingly treated her students, she also said some pretty nasty things about PLU’s, but what finally set me off was when she disrespected me in front of the class.

Wasting no time, I left the classroom and stormed to the Dean’s office. With smoke coming out of my ears and seething with rage, I asked the secretary if the Dean was in. Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately) he was at a meeting so I ended up writing a two page, erratically written angry note reporting Ms. X’s decorum. (I sent an apology for the tone of my letter the following Monday.)

“I have never been so insulted in my life!” I angrily scrawled on the paper, “She is an educator and I am appalled at the way she endorses her crooked point of view to the students..” I won’t list down all she did but here are some of them:

“Insults are OK..” She says, justifying the way she castigates students. I was infuriated at the way she conducts herself in class- hey, insults in the classroom, in the workplace, or anywhere else is never Ok.

“It’s ok to be gay as long as you don’t get an operation (referring to sex change)”.. With this, I just lost it. Who is she to dictate what gay people can and cannot do? I wrote angrily. She is influencing how young minds think and she should not be allowed to say statements like this!

I admit, I can be a bit of a drama queen sometimes- I can be sensitive. But hey, I am not the type of person who just sits back and take it. Even if it means my fighting back potentially means trouble for me. The following meeting, I expected the worst. But it didn’t happen- she acted very civil and it was as if there was an invisible line between her and the students. No insults or condescending tone from her thereafter- mission accomplished!

On the lighter side, let’s take a look at some of my favorite scenes from the surprise hit Ally McBeal (1st Season). I relate to her because she’s a kook! A little like me ; )

Ally and her little games. her mating dances usually end up with her..

Getting dumped.

CPR, Ally McBeal style. Georgia, her first love's beautiful, smart wife.

Elaine and her big head. How Ally would describe the opposing counsel in one word:
As for what he is saying:
The lawyer turned call girl: "It drove me to the conclusion that men

as a species is not suitable for long term partnership."
Ally to her witness: OBJECTION!!
